The Just Walk Team

Meg: Born and raised in the DC metro area, I've always been around dogs, from my family's spaniels to my aunts pack of show-winning golden retrievers. In early 2008, after completing a degree in social and cultural history from University of Maryland, I found my way into pet care as career!

I concentrate my learning on animal health and wellness, as well animal behavior. I do my best to get to know each dog personally and form a relationship with them. I believe in positivity and patience when working with animals.

In my spare time, I hang out with my own two dogs and cat, help manage a letterpress print shop, go on walks around the monuments at 2am and spend time at the beach.

Blake: I grew up trying to reach the dog shears on my grandmother's grooming table in coastal Virginia. Raised around a pack of beautiful Akitas, I learned to ride dogs before I ever thought about walking them.

Now they get to ride me, or at least walk at my side as I pound the District pavement. After a few misguided years in academia, I co-founded Just Walk as a way to feed my animal addiction, and to put my cooperative business skills to good use.

I may have more conversations with the dogs than with their human counterparts, but I don't see that as a problem.

At the end of the day, my main priority is having positive, trusting relationships with both my four and two-legged clients.
Rob-s Rob: I grew up in rural New Jersey, graduating from Rutgers College in 2009 with a degree in Latin and Philosophy.

My passion for animals led me to pursue a career as a dog walker, where I work with a diverse array of canine pals from the enormous to the tiny.

In my spare time I enjoy playing music, reading James Joyce and Latin poetry and boning up on US presidential trivia.
Kotu-2 Kotu: I was born and raised in sunny South Florida where I grew up playing in bands and taking the beach for granted. In 2011 I graduated from New College of Florida with a BA in social movent sociology. I was especially interested in labor and worker ownership movements here and abroad. After graduation I volunteered rescuing dogs who were abandoned in the Everglades. I moved to Washington DC in the summer of 2016 to join Just Walk and combine my passions for taking care of dogs and taking care of business.

When your dogs aren't showing me around my new city, you can find me watching Star Trek reruns, pretending I know how to play the bass, and searching DC's coffee shops for a good Cuban colada.
Hanna: I grew up in NW DC in a home that, at its peak, had six people, two dogs, and seven cats. I remember dressing our sweet pups in ballerina outfits for fashion shows and promptly being lectured on why respecting animals’ needs is just as important as playing with them (thanks, parents).
I graduated from Middlebury College in 2014 with a BA in Peace & Justice Studies. Since then I have worked at an alternative high school in Vermont, with a labor/community organizing coalition in Connecticut, and for a medical herbalist in Virginia.
I identify as an introvert with humans and an extrovert with animals. This is why I chose to become a part of Just Walk—cruising around my city, with a dog friend by my side, is the best.
